Our first camping trip together!!! Part 1

So it has been a tradition in both my family and my husband's family to go camping at Wallowa Lake State Park in Oregon for Labor Day weekend the past several years.  So this year, Nathan and I went camping over Labor Day weekend for our first camping trip together.  We had a lot of fun camping with both our families and several other families that we know.

Here is a picture of our camp site.  We tented it this year.

Here is Nathan, we were taking a few minutes to look at the fish in the creek.

Here I am also enjoying a few minutes to look at the fish in the creek.

My parents loved cooking breakfast outside.

The best part is that you can just drop everything on the ground while you are
working on not worry about it. (Notice all the egg shells on the ground)

Dad is running away, he doesn't want to have to clean up the
mess that they made....

Okay, he decided it would be best to go
back and clean up the mess from breakfast.

Breakfast cooking away.  The scrambled eggs are going to be
put into breakfast burritos.  That is what was on the menu for this morning.
That and lots of coffee.

Impossible!!!

1 Peter 1: 7-9 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see  him  not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9 Receiving the end of your faith,  even  the salvation of  your  souls. What is your impossible situation?  What is your I need a miracle situation?  I heard these lines in a song recently and it got me to thinking about how sometimes situations in our lives seem so impossible and out of control.  We just don't know what to do about it or what to think about that situation. I read the above scripture in 1 Peter last week and it got me to thinking about how gold is refined by going through fire, diamonds are mined from deep within the earth.  We wouldn't have the beautiful jewelry and precious me...

New blog

This was a challenge trying to get this blog set up, but I wanted to start a blog about my long-distance dating journey.  My boyfriend lives about six hours from where I live so it has been an interesting challenge trying to figure out the logistics of when we can see each other since our work schedules are completely opposite.  We met about eight years ago when he lived in the same town that I live in.  We attended the same church at the time and that is how we met.  After dating on and off for a few years he accepted a position in a new store that was opening with his company and decided to move away.  We remained friends and talked on the phone occasionally but decided that dating just wasn't going to work at that time.  After a few years, we decided to try the dating thing again and now it has been about three months and we see each other about every two weeks or so and talk on the phone to each other just about every night.  Well that is enough hi...

Perfect Tote Bag

After searching for quite awhile I have finally found the perfect tote bag.  I wanted a small tote that I could take as a carry-on if I fly or that would be an easy bag to take if I was going out of town for just a weekend and did not need to pack for a week (which I am really good at doing even when not necessary).  So I started a search and went the rounds of all the stores in town to see if I could find something that I liked that was a good size.  I wanted a tote that was on wheels and had a handle so I didn't have to carry it all the time, but one that was smaller than my suitcase that I normally take when I go out of town.  So finally after going the rounds of all the stores several times, I have finally found the tote that is just right for me.  It has a handle, is not very large (but large enough to take everything that I will need) and it has wheels.  I am also pretty sure that I will be able to take it as a carry-on when I fly to Boise in a couple...
