This was a challenge trying to get this blog set up, but I wanted to start a blog about my long-distance dating journey. My boyfriend lives about six hours from where I live so it has been an interesting challenge trying to figure out the logistics of when we can see each other since our work schedules are completely opposite. We met about eight years ago when he lived in the same town that I live in. We attended the same church at the time and that is how we met. After dating on and off for a few years he accepted a position in a new store that was opening with his company and decided to move away. We remained friends and talked on the phone occasionally but decided that dating just wasn't going to work at that time. After a few years, we decided to try the dating thing again and now it has been about three months and we see each other about every two weeks or so and talk on the phone to each other just about every night. Well that is enough history for now. I am getting ready to go watch the new Julia Roberts movie, Eat Pray Love. Hope everyone else is enjoying there evening.
Growing up, were you ever told, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?" I remember being taught this when I was pretty young. Another childhood saying was "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me." Unfortunately, this saying is not true either. Words can cause lasting damage that is very difficult to overcome. We need to be mindful when we are speaking that our words are used to encourage and uplift one another and not used to destroy each other. There is a scripture verse that I have been meditating on this week and it is listed below. It states that our conversation needs to be seasoned with salt, but also full of grace so that we know how to answer ...
on the road to a very fun blog...
