Putting Things together and decorating

Well, we finally have everything in our house and now it
is time to put everything together and organize and decorate....

First, we put the kitchen table in the dining room and
started with my corner hutch behind it....

We put the bed together in the guest room....

Here is Nathan with his first home improvement project :)
He is trying to get the washer and dryer hooked up so we
can use them....

They are finally put against the wall where they belong...

Nathan didn't want his picture taken, but he is the one
measuring to make sure the pictures look right on the wall

It was fun trying to decide where to put all of our pictures
and how we wanted to decorate everything.

These are on the wall as you enter the front door.
Don't they look good here?  I am modeling the pictures for you :)

Here is Nathan measuring the wall to
see where to hang up our mirror, he wants it to
be centered...

Isn't this a cool mirror? We got it as a wedding present.

I decided that I wanted to do my kitchen/dining room
in a coffee theme for a while.   The picture on the left
says "Coffee is a pleasure, Good friends are a Treasure"
I just thought this was a cool saying and I love the
picture on the right that just says Coffee :)

Here is a side view so you can see all of it.  I added
two mugs that say Latte and Cappuccino...

Here is a picture of the dining room.  It is starting
to come together nicely!

Nathan is trying to figure out how to hang
the television on the wall.  He has all of his tools
out and is ready to start working on it....

He was working hard on getting it all
up on the wall.....

Here is a picture with it up on the wall.  Now it
just needs the final touches and it will be done.

More pictures to come as we get the rooms
finished and decorated...Hope you are enjoying our
journey as much as we are :)

Our words make a difference

Growing up, were you ever told, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?"  I remember being taught this when I was pretty young.  Our words matter and if we can't say something nice, it's better not to say anything.  In today's world, especially with social media, it seems that a lot of people have forgotten this message or maybe were never taught it to begin with.  Another childhood saying was "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me."  Unfortunately, this saying is not true either.  Words can cause lasting damage that is very difficult to overcome. We need to be mindful when we are speaking that our words are used to encourage and uplift one another and not used to destroy each other.  There is a scripture verse that I have been meditating on this week and it is listed below.  It states that our conversation needs to be seasoned with salt, but also full of grace so that we know how to answer ...

Perfect Tote Bag

After searching for quite awhile I have finally found the perfect tote bag.  I wanted a small tote that I could take as a carry-on if I fly or that would be an easy bag to take if I was going out of town for just a weekend and did not need to pack for a week (which I am really good at doing even when not necessary).  So I started a search and went the rounds of all the stores in town to see if I could find something that I liked that was a good size.  I wanted a tote that was on wheels and had a handle so I didn't have to carry it all the time, but one that was smaller than my suitcase that I normally take when I go out of town.  So finally after going the rounds of all the stores several times, I have finally found the tote that is just right for me.  It has a handle, is not very large (but large enough to take everything that I will need) and it has wheels.  I am also pretty sure that I will be able to take it as a carry-on when I fly to Boise in a couple...

Jarius' Daughter

I was praying for healing for some people the other day and the thought kept coming to me, if God can raise Jarius' daughter from the dead and heal the leper from leprosy, there is nothing that He can't do.  I decided to look up the story of Jarius' daughter because it has been a while since I have read that.  There were a few things that really struck me when I was reading this passage this time.  This passage is found in Luke 8:40-56 and Mark 5:22-43 Now, I have been raised in the church and heard this story several times through my life and I am raising my kids to read the Bible now.  Sometimes, I feel like when I read the Bible, "How could you not have faith and not believe when you could see what was happening right in front of you?"  Did you realize that at this time in history, it had been 400 years since a prophet of God had been seen?   Now that is something amazing to me.  400 years since any miracles had been performed, yet these people...
