Little things in Life!

It's the little things in life that are the most important!!!

Do you ever get up and want to just get a hot cup of coffee or tea and a good book and curl up and just read and drink your hot drink and enjoy your day by doing nothing else?  I sometimes think, "Oh, it would be so nice to just have a lazy day today."  Then reality sets in and my kiddos wake up and before you know it, it is time to start the day.  Laundry, dishes, feeding kids, cleaning up and all the millions of little things that we moms do every day.

You know, I love my family more than anything and sometimes it would be nice to just have that lazy day or just do nothing or anything other than all the adulting things we have to do, but I wouldn't trade my life for anything.  I love the time I get to spend with my kiddos, even if it is a million things I have to do.  So I get my cup of coffee and usually make my older kiddo a hot cup of cocoa and we start our day just enjoying our hot drinks together.

We homeschool so after we finish our drinks we will usually clean up a little bit and then get our school lessons out of the way so we can play or run errands the rest of the day.  I also work from home as a small business that sells vintage embroidery kits or crocheted items so it is never ending work between that and homeschooling and cleaning.

Our words make a difference

Growing up, were you ever told, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?"  I remember being taught this when I was pretty young.  Our words matter and if we can't say something nice, it's better not to say anything.  In today's world, especially with social media, it seems that a lot of people have forgotten this message or maybe were never taught it to begin with.  Another childhood saying was "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me."  Unfortunately, this saying is not true either.  Words can cause lasting damage that is very difficult to overcome. We need to be mindful when we are speaking that our words are used to encourage and uplift one another and not used to destroy each other.  There is a scripture verse that I have been meditating on this week and it is listed below.  It states that our conversation needs to be seasoned with salt, but also full of grace so that we know how to answer ...

Perfect Tote Bag

After searching for quite awhile I have finally found the perfect tote bag.  I wanted a small tote that I could take as a carry-on if I fly or that would be an easy bag to take if I was going out of town for just a weekend and did not need to pack for a week (which I am really good at doing even when not necessary).  So I started a search and went the rounds of all the stores in town to see if I could find something that I liked that was a good size.  I wanted a tote that was on wheels and had a handle so I didn't have to carry it all the time, but one that was smaller than my suitcase that I normally take when I go out of town.  So finally after going the rounds of all the stores several times, I have finally found the tote that is just right for me.  It has a handle, is not very large (but large enough to take everything that I will need) and it has wheels.  I am also pretty sure that I will be able to take it as a carry-on when I fly to Boise in a couple...

Jarius' Daughter

I was praying for healing for some people the other day and the thought kept coming to me, if God can raise Jarius' daughter from the dead and heal the leper from leprosy, there is nothing that He can't do.  I decided to look up the story of Jarius' daughter because it has been a while since I have read that.  There were a few things that really struck me when I was reading this passage this time.  This passage is found in Luke 8:40-56 and Mark 5:22-43 Now, I have been raised in the church and heard this story several times through my life and I am raising my kids to read the Bible now.  Sometimes, I feel like when I read the Bible, "How could you not have faith and not believe when you could see what was happening right in front of you?"  Did you realize that at this time in history, it had been 400 years since a prophet of God had been seen?   Now that is something amazing to me.  400 years since any miracles had been performed, yet these people...
