Bridal Fair 2011

On Saturday, I went to the bridal fair in town with my mom and my best friend.  We had a lot of fun walking around and seeing all of the different vendors and different things that are available in our community.  Here is an example of a centerpiece that was neat looking.... I'm signing up to win lots of free cool stuff :) Doesn't this cake look fun. (I don't care for the purple flower, but I liked the cake) Stacey is starting to look overwhelmed with all of the choices, I'm still sorting through all of my flyers.. After the bridal fair, my friend Stacey and my sister-in-law Susan and I went shopping to check out the shops in town to see if we could find any dresses for the flower girls or any bridesmaid dresses or wedding dresses that we liked.  There isn't a lot of selection in our town, but we had a lot of fun getting out and enjoying the day just shopping with the girls.  I have finally found the flower girl dresses that I think I am going to go wit

Dress Shopping

My mom and I decided to go look at some wedding dresses today.  So off we went to the local bridal shop in town...here is a picture of their sign. This is me entering the shop for the first day of dress shopping.  We were just out to get ideas today and to see what was out there. Wow, let's start shopping. Here I am trying on the first style of dress.... This was the A-line style.... This was such a fun picture....look at me, don't I look fabulous :) This one was the halter style dress.  There is a lot of beadwork on this dress that doesn't show up in this picture. Don't worry that's not part of the dress, but they didn't have my size in this dress so we had to clamp it to get an idea of what the dress would look like on me in my size :) Look at me...The picture on the top is with the veil... the picture on the bottom is just a fun one...What do you think of the dresses??? And finally after trying on several dresses, it was time to call it a d

Engagement Time

Wow, what a holiday season...The Tuesday after Christmas my boyfriend and I went to dinner at the Red Lion Motel (one of the nicest restaurant in our town).  It was a really good dinner.  After we were done eating, the waitress came over with a covered dessert tray and said that they have a special dessert presentation tonight.  My eyes were starting to get huge at this point. :)  She pulls the lid off the tray and there is a ring box and a red rose.  Nathan takes the ring box and takes out the ring and gets down on one knee.  He then asks me to marry him.  Ahhhhh......I was so excited and speechless.  Of course I said yes!!!!!   I can only imagine how big around my eyes are at this point.  It would have been the perfect thing to get a video tape of.   Here is a picture of Nathan and I after he proposed.... Here is a picture of the ring he bought me.  He picked it out on his own :)

Holidays

I just love the holidays.  When it starts getting to close to Thanksgiving then I think I need to get out all of my baking supplies and away I go.  The other day I decided to make some cookies.  So I got my ingredients together to make sure I wouldn't have to stop in the middle of what I was doing and run to the store for something.  It is no fun when you get half way through baking only to discover that you are out of eggs or sugar.  I then dump all of my ingredients together and get out my hand mixer to mix away.  Here are all of my ingredients that I use... The last few months I have really been enjoying baking with my hand mixer.  Here is a picture of my dough all mixed together and waiting for the oven.  I then make little dough balls to bake them.... And then the final product...delicious cookies with powdered sugar on them.  Yum!!!
