I wanted to get a backdrop for my cake table at my reception.  So my mom and I started searching and researching to see what would be the perfect backdrop for my cake table.  Now you can rent a backdrop, but you must put all the material and all of the lights on yourself, you are only renting the stand.  So we were off to see what would be the best option for what we were wanting to do at the reception.  My mom found these really cool trellises on sale and so we were off to the races..... The first step was to pain them white since they were just plain wood.... Here is my dog, Snickers watching the whole process.... She thinks she should help out with the painting :) The next step after we got them painted white, was to put white lights on them so that the light will show through.... I am very focused on what I am doing in this picture... After the lights were put on the arch, it was then time to put the material on them to give them some color.... I am thinking really

Next, comes the fun part of shopping for a wedding cake.  Now, I don't know about you, but overall I am not a big cake eater so this could be an interesting challenge to find just the right cake.  I am not as concerned with how my cake will taste as I am about how my cake will look. :)  That is the most important part to me...that the cake will look good in my pictures.  So off my mom and I go to check out all of the bakeries in town and see what will be the best options for us. We started out at Daily's Bakery and spoke to the cake decorator to see what our options would be...after visiting with the cake decorator and seeing the bakery we decided this just wasn't going to be our best option.  So off we go again.  We spent one Saturday just driving by and going in to each of the bakeries to see if they made wedding cakes and seeing what each bakery looked like.
