Thoughts from a Preemie Mama

As our world is so crazy right now, I've been thinking a lot about our time spent in the NICU.  It was probably the hardest thing that I have had to deal with in my life.  Since not many people know my story, I thought I would blog about it on here and share a few things.  At 28 weeks pregnant I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia.  Preeclampsia is a life threatining disease.  I was placed on bed rest in the hospital.  The doctors really wanted to try and get us to 34 weeks but at 30 weeks and 5 days my baby boy decided it was time to join us in the world.  I also had a 4 year old at home and that was one of the hardest things having to stay in the hospital and not be at home with my little guy.  I was on hospital bed rest for 12 days before my little one made an appearance and then my little guy spent 65 days in the NICU.  He was born weighing 2 pounds and 8 ounces.  Let me tell you something, NICU babies are some very strong warriors and siblings of a baby in the NICU is a strong wa
